Delhi-Varanasi-Allahabad-Khajuraho-Jhansi-Agra-Jaipur-Delhi-Rishikesh-Delhi.

Itinerary

Day 1 Welcome to Delhi!

You will arrive at the Delhi Airport. Delhi is India’s national capital and the second largest metropolis after Mumbai. Delhi has been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BC. Through most of its history, Delhi has served as a capital of various kingdoms and empires. It has been captured, ransacked and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval period, and modern Delhi is a cluster of a number of cities spread across the metropolitan region.
Upon arrival you will visit the Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi (Father of the Nation) Memorial, which is close to the river Yamuna. You will also see Rashtrapati Bhawan, the residence of the President of India. There you’ll also see the Government Buildings, Parliament house. Later, you will visit Birla Temple. An overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 2 Half day sightseeing and flight to Varanasi

Today after an early breakfast and checkout from the hotel, you will visit Humayun’s Tomb, tomb of the second Mughal emperor, which was built by his wife during the 16th century, and then you will visit Qutub Minar, a 220-feet tower made by one of the first Muslim leaders in India, built between 1199 and 1368 AD.
Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.
In the evening, you will go to Ganges River for the boat ride. This time you will see the religious ceremony on the bank of Ganges, which is held every day to honor the river Ganges. An overnight stay in Varanasi.

Day 3 Sightseeing of Varanasi and drive to Allahabad (125 km, 2-3 hours)

Early in the morning you can enjoy a boat ride on the river Ganges. You can watch the golden sunrise and see hundreds of people worshiping and taking bath in the holy river. You will then return to your hotel for breakfast.

Afterwards you will tour the old city and visit temples including Kashi Hindu University where more than fifty thousand students from all over the world are enrolled. Also, visit the fort on the bank of the river Ganges. Most of the part of this fort is now converted into a beautiful museum. An overnight stay in Allahabad.

Day 4 Sightseeing of Allahabad and drive to Khajuraho (269 km, 4-5 hours)

After an early breakfast, you will visit the Allahabad fort stands on the banks of the Yamuna near the confluence with the river Ganges. It is the largest Fort built by Akbar. In its prime, the fort was unrivaled for its design, construction and craftsmanship. This huge fort has three galleries flanked by high towers. Then you will visit Sangam, which has two physical rivers Ganges, Yamuna, and the invisible or mythic Saraswati River. A place of religious importance and the site for historic Kumbh Mela held every 12 years, over the years it has also been the site of immersion of ashes of several national leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi in 1948.
Swaraj Bhavan (formerly Anand Bhavan) is a large mansion located in Allahabad, India. It was owned by Indian political leader Motilal Nehru in the 19th century, it has served as the ancestral home of the Nehru-Gandhi Family.

After lunch you will drive to Khajuraho. An overnight stay in Khajuraho.

Day 5 Sightseeing of Khajuraho and drive to Jhansi (175 km 3-4 hours)

In morning after breakfast, you will visit the Eastern and Western group of temples. The figures and sculptures in these temples are in honor of women and love making. These temples are around 1000 years old and the only of its kind in the whole world.
After lunch, you will drive to Jhansi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. An overnight stay in Jhansi.

Day 6 Sightseeing of Jhansi and train to Agra

In the morning after breakfast, you will visit The fort of Jhansi was built in 1613, by Raja Bir Singh Judao (1606-27) of Orchha. This fort is built on a rocky hill and the city of Jhansi is around this fort. During the earlier days, Wall of the fort was all around Jhansi city. This Wall has ten gates. Some of these gates still existing and some vanished with time.
Once served as the abode of Rani Lakshmi Bai Palace, the palace is a double storied structure with flat roofs, arched chambers and open courtyards. This beautiful edifice of a past legacy encompasses six halls, with parallel verandas. The palace had witnessed one of the fierce battles of the freedom struggle in which 50 body guards of queen were killed by the English Army.
After Lunch, you will be transferred to the railway station for train to Agra.

Upon your arrival in Agra, you will be transferred to your hotel. An overnight stay in Agra.

Day 7 Sightseeing of Agra and drive to Jaipur (230 km, 3-4 hours)

Early in morning you will visit the world-famous Taj Mahal (1631-1653). This amazing piece of architecture made of white-colored marble, was built by Mughal ruler Shah Jahan for his departed wife Mumtaz Mahal. Its architecture reveals why it’s one of the Seven Wonders of the World. For 22 years, 20,000 expert workers from Italy, France, Iran and Asia worked on the memorial.

Return to hotel for breakfast. Then, you will visit Agra Fort, which was built in the 1600’s by Akbar and was finished by his grandson.

After lunch, you will drive to Jaipur and en route you will visit Fatehpur Sikri (22 miles from Agra), the former metropolitan of Akbar, built in 1569. Akbar moved the capital to Fatehpur Sikri, but after 13 years due to the scarcity of water, the capital was shifted to Lahore in Pakistan and later again to Agra. You will continue your drive to Agra. After arrival, transfer to hotel. An overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 8 Full day sightseeing of Jaipur

After an early breakfast you will drive to Fort Amber (10 km), the former capital of Kachhawaha Rajputs. On the way, you will stop to visit the city’s landmark: the Hawa Mahal (palace of the winds). Built during the 18th century, the five-story building features 953 windows and niches from which the royal women observed the procession in the street without being seen. Next you will visit Amber Fort, which lies on 400-foot-tall hill and is surrounded by the chain of mountains known as Aravalli. You will ascend the fort on an elephant back like a Maharaja. Then you will visit Albert Museum. After that you will visit Jantar Mantar, an observatory. It was built in the 18th century by the city founder Jai Singh II. The instruments are out of stone and marble and served to the sky observation.

In the evening, you will visit Chokidhani Village Resort for fun and dinner. It is a fun-filled resort that depicts the true picture of Indian Rajasthan village Culture. Spread over 10 acres of beautifully landscaped area for a rustic look, it is dotted with machaans & platforms where different folk artists perform concurrently. A village fair is created every evening as an ongoing celebration of the rich & vibrant cultural heritage of Rajasthan. You will see their Acrobatics on a Bamboo, The Puppet Show, The Magic Show, Living amalgam of a snake and a girl etc. An Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 9 Drive to Rishikesh (494 km, 6-7 hours)

After the breakfast, you will drive to Rishikesh via Delhi.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. An overnight stay in Rishikesh.

Day 10 Full day sightseeing of Rishikesh

Today, in the morning after breakfast, you will go for the sightseeing. Firstly, you will visit Triveni Ghat, it is a bathing ghat. Daily in the morning and evening there are thousands who take bath here and enjoy the Maha Aarti. It is very soothing to sit on the banks of the river and enjoy the cool breeze. Later, you can indulge in water sports – White Water Rafting Rishikesh is very popular for river rafting on the River Ganga (Ganges). Season: September-November and March-April-May are ideal for rafting. The rafting will go on for several kilometers, and the path is interspersed with rapids, ranging from Level 1 to Level 5, in order of difficulty. At the end of the trip, you have the option of jumping some 20 feet from a ledge into the water. An overnight stay in Rishikesh.

Day 11 Drive back to Delhi (228 km, 4-5 hours)

After breakfast, you will drive to Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the International airport for your onward journey.
