Itinerary

Day 1Drive from Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar (263 Km, 4-5 hours)

After arrival at the International Mumbai airport/ Railway station, you will be transferred to hotel. Mumbai is the financial capital of India and with around 21 millions of inhabitants is the second largest city of the country after Delhi. It is even bigger than Kolkata and Chennai. Mumbai is the capital of the state Maharashtra. Located on the west coast of the Arabian Sea the city has more than 50 percent of India’s cargo go through the harbor, making it the busiest and largest harbor city of the Indian subcontinent.
Today, you will drive from Powai to Mahabaleshwar. En route you will stop for lunch and thereafter you will proceed.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred into your hotel. An overnight stay at Mahabaleshwar.

Day 2Sightseeing of Mahabaleshwar

Today, after breakfast you will visit the Venna Lake is one of the major tourist attractions of Mahabaleshwar. The lake is surrounded by trees on all sides. The other major attractions of Mahabaleshwar are:

Arthur’s Seat: Arthur’s seat is a point at an elevation of 1340 meters. The point was named after British officer Sir Arthur Malet (1806–1888) (Not to be confused with British born actor of same name), who sat here and gazed at the Savitri River, where he lost his wife and children in a tragic ferry mishap.

Kate’s Point: Kate’s point is located to the east of Mahabaleshwar and is famous for its view of two reservoirs, Balakwadi and Dhom. The point is around 1280 meters high.

Needle Hole Point / Elephant Point: It is located near Kate’s Point. One can see a natural rock formation with a hole in between, thus giving the name Needle-hole. The point is also famous for the view of Deccan traps, which look like an elephant’s trunk.

Wilson Point : It is named after Sir Leslie Wilson, the Governor of Bombay from 1923–26, Wilson Point is the highest point in Mahabaleshwar at 1439 m. Known as Sindola Hill during the colonial rule, Wilson point is the only location in Mahabaleshwar where both sunrise and sunset can be seen. It offers a spectacular glance of Mahabaleshwar in all directions.

3 Monkey Point: It is named because of the natural sculpture of the stones which looks like three monkeys sitting beside each other and portraying 3 monkeys of Gandhiji.

After the sightseeing, you will return to the hotel. An overnight stay at Mahabaleshwar.

Day 3Drive to Lavasa (163 km, 3-4 hours)

Today, after breakfast and check out from your hotel, you will drive to Lavasa.
Lavasa is India’s newest hill station since Independence. It is a private city is being constructed by Lavasa Corporation, a unit of Ajit Gulabchand’s Hindustan Construction Company.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. An overnight stay at Lavasa.

Day 4Drive to Lonavala (107 km, 2-3 hours)

Today, in the morning after breakfast and check out from your hotel, you will drive to Lonavala.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Later, you may visit
Tiger’s Leap: It is one of the most fascinating places in this area. If someone carefully observes the valley from this point, it will appear as if a tiger is leaping into the valley.
Amrutanjan Point: It is yet another point located high up in Khandala. It provides excellent view of the places nearby. The point is a well suited location for an enormous sight of the valley as well as the Duke’s Nose.
Duke’s Nose: It also known as ‘Nagfani’ is named after Duke Wellington, who had a pointed nose resembling the cliff.
Bhushi Lake: It is situated in Khandala is the ideal spot for all those who wish to relax in the lap of Mother Nature. Its serene and tranquil surroundings and crystal clear water provides immense opportunities for the tourists to rest in peace.
Return to the hotel after the sightseeing. An overnight stay at Lonavala.

Day 5Visit to the Karla caves and Drive to Mumbai (80 km, 1-2 hours)

Today, in the morning after breakfast and check out from your hotel, you will visit the Karla and Bhaja caves. These caves are historical rock cut caves, situated at a distance of 16 km from Khandala. Karla Caves are the ancient Buddhist caves. Bhaja Caves are similar to Karla Caves but are on a much smaller scale. These caves are also in Chaitya style.
After the sightseeing, you will drive to Mumbai. Upon reaching, you will be dropped back to Powai.
