While Myanmar President U Win Myint and his wife Daw Cho Cho enjoyed their extended schedule at the Taj Mahal. The couple was received at the Kheria airbase by Uttar Pradesh minister Neelkanth Tiwari. They praised the monument’s architecture, they posed at the iconic bench inside the 17th-century mausoleum. The people of Agra had to face several restrictions on their movement while the Myanmar President was in town.

The Taj Mahal remained closed for all other visitors from 12 to 2 pm, resulting in the cancellation of the Taj visits of numerous tourists, both domestic and foreign, since Myint’s visit was not advertised in advance and no travel agencies were aware of the Taj Mahal closure beforehand.
